Frequently Ask Questions

01 What are the advantages of investing in photovoltaic solar energy?

Profitability: Selling electric energy produced by the sun is a business model whose income is guaranteed by law. The electric distributor is obligated to buy the energy generated at a set price set for 25 years. This means that income will only vary depending on the quality of the system. This is why a good engineering job is important.

Improve the company's image: It adds sustainability and social commitment (RSC) to the company’s image.

Scalable investments: Allows the investor to adapt the size of the investment to fit their needs.

02 What are the advantages of investing in roofs with regards to solar farms?

Better Turnaround Time: Construction promotions are free of many of the logistical and bureaucratic problems that ground mounted parks have. This, along with the size of the park (ie smaller and less complex) guarantees that the time between the start of the project and its completion is infinitely shorter than that of old ground mounted parks.

Increased system efficiency: Having the connection point a few meters from the installation instead of a few kilometres as is the case with ground mounted parks, reduces loss and therefore improves cost efficiency.

Increased physical security of the solar plant: With private security, an anchored security system and located in populated areas and at a height of more than 12 meters, IM2 installations are considered the safest.

Reduced costs: Investing in roofs does not require land, which means a greater percentage of the investment goes to productive elements.

Invest close: We have parks in various locations which allow investors to suit their needs. Our investors are familiar with our installations, visit them and have close contact with them.

03 What is the duration of the investment?

The current panels are guaranteed to work for 25 years, the time it takes us to do a financial study. However, an installation can operate for up to 40 years.

04 How does the government back these type sof investments?

Photovoltaic solar energy investments are insured based on the stipulations in force in the Royal Decree 1578/2008, by which electrical energy production activity on special regime is regulated. Similarly, Europe promotes renewable energy investing through a specific Stimulus Plan as well as through a directive for the promotion and use of renewable energies.

05 What is the expected return on my investment?

As with any investment, it will depend of the level of risk that you want to assume. You can choose from different profit levels depending on the guarantee rates. The average return is around 10%, which partly explains the exponential growth these types of installations worldwide.

06 What does IM2 offer that other companies do not?

As the pioneers in photovoltaic roof installations, we have a lot of experience with these types of installations. This allows the system to effectively meet the output for which it was designed.

07 What type of warranty does my installation have?

When it comes time to invest in photovoltaic solar energy, it is important that both the company in charge of developing the project as well as the materials used are recognized by the market for their reliability.

In general, the solar modules have a 25 year warranty and the electrical equipment (net investors) has a 10 year warranty.

The experience of the companying developing the project is a basic factor since we are talking about generally elevated investments. It is important that the technical reliability, market experience and developmental ability of financially elevated projects are secure.

Additionally, insurance on the installation will cover damages caused by weather, vandalism or theft, fire and other common property coverage. We also compensate for the days without production due to natural disasters.

08 How do I invest?

It is as simple as selecting the investment options that best suit your investor profile and we take care of the rest.

09 Are there tax benefits?

There are currently tax incentives for investing in photovoltaic solar energy. For the year 2010, there is a 2% discount on an investment done directly on the quota for corporate tax.
